Since 1969, Lake Drive has offered the most comprehensive continuum of educational opportunities in NJ for children with hearing loss from birth through high school graduation. It is a unique school in the state, privileged to operate under the auspices of the Mountain Lakes Board of Education, receiving on average 200 children with hearing loss and associated additional special needs from 12 counties across Northern and Central NJ. Lake Drive programs range from specialized self-contained classrooms to mainstream educational support services. Although the program is housed within the Mountain Lakes Public Schools, it is fiscally self-sufficient and independent, operating solely through tuition paid by the sending districts, special grants and donations. |
